Important information - investment values can go down as well as up, so you may get back less than you invest.
Most of us like the idea of our money working harder - especially after a few years of stubbornly high inflation eating away at savings.
Leave £10,000 sitting under your mattress and, with inflation at 3.8%, its buying power could shrink to around £8,240 in five years. But if you invested that same amount and achieved an average return of 5% a year, your investment would be worth around £12,760 - equivalent to roughly £10,600 after adjusting for inflation.
Of course, investing isn’t risk-free - the value of your investments can fall as well as rise. But if you’ve cleared any high-interest debt, built a rainy-day fund (three to six months’ worth of living expenses is a good guide), and don’t need the money for at least five years, investing could be a smart next step for your financial future.
But where to start?
Investing made simpler with our ready-made ISA
If you just want to dip your toe in, the world of investing can feel like a maze. Fund factsheets, asset allocations, risk profiles… each decision can feel like a test you didn’t sign up for.
That’s where our ready-made ISA comes in.
If you’re new to investing, or you’ve been keeping your cash in savings, our ready-made ISA can help. It takes you from ‘thinking about investing’ to actually doing it - cutting down on the jargon, overwhelming choices and second-guessing.
What exactly is our ready-made ISA?
Our ready-made ISA is a Stocks and Shares ISA that takes the hard work out of investing. Instead of choosing and managing lots of individual investments yourself, you invest in one professionally managed, multi-asset fund.
What does that mean? Well, it’s a fund that spreads your money across different types of investments - like shares, bonds and other assets - to balance potential growth with risk.
It’s designed for people who want to invest, but don’t have the time or confidence to build their own portfolio. With our ready-made ISA, you simply choose what matters most to you, and we’ll show you a single fund with a mix of investments already built in. If it feels right for you and you decide to invest, that fund becomes your ready-made ISA.
From there, Fidelity’s investment experts take care of the rest - monitoring, rebalancing, and adjusting the mix over time. All you need to do is check in every now and then to make sure the fund still suits your goals.
Open our ready-made ISA in 3 steps
We’ve made the process as quick and easy as possible.
- Select your fund. Choose the investment features that matter to you and our Navigator tool will show you a fund that already holds a mix of investments to consider.
- Open your ISA. Once you’ve chosen a fund, we’ll guide you through opening your Stocks and Shares ISA. You can start from as little as £25 a month or with a £1,000 one-off payment. You can save up to £20,000 this tax year.
- Leave the hard work to us. Once your ISA is open, your money will be invested in your chosen fund. Our experts take care of the ongoing investment decisions, so you don’t have to. Just make sure it remains right for you, by checking on it occasionally.
And remember, investing through our ready-made ISA is tax-efficient - any gains you make are free from individual UK income and capital gains tax.
Ready to take the leap?
One of the hardest parts of investing is taking that first step. The good news is, it’s now easier than ever with our ready-made ISA.
